Accessibility

ADA Compliance & Accessibility

LocalReach Rewards is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone, including users with disabilities. We design and develop to WCAG 2.1 Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, and align with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for digital accessibility.

Current Conformance Status

Our platform conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We continuously test and remediate to maintain and improve this conformance level.

Accessibility Features

How we make our platform accessible

Our accessibility implementation covers visual, motor, cognitive, and technical dimensions to support the widest range of users.

Visual Accessibility

  • Color contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.1 AA minimum (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • All interactive elements have visible focus indicators
  • No information conveyed by color alone — text labels and icons accompany all status indicators
  • Text scales up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • Dark mode support for reduced glare and improved readability

Keyboard Navigation

  • Full keyboard navigation across all pages and interactive components
  • Logical tab order following the visual layout
  • Skip-to-content link for bypassing repetitive navigation
  • No keyboard traps — users can tab in and out of any component
  • Enter, Space, and Escape keys activate expected behaviors on dialogs, menus, and toggles

Content & Screen Readers

  • Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) for screen reader navigation
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • ARIA labels on icon-only buttons and controls
  • Form fields have associated label elements and error messages are announced
  • Page structure uses proper heading hierarchy (h1 through h6) without skipping levels

Motion & Cognitive

  • No auto-playing video or audio
  • Animations respect prefers-reduced-motion media query
  • No content flashes more than 3 times per second (seizure safety)
  • Clear, plain language used throughout the interface
  • Consistent navigation and layout patterns across all pages

Technical Standards

  • Valid HTML5 with no deprecated attributes
  • WAI-ARIA roles, states, and properties applied per specification
  • Responsive design works from 320px mobile to 2560px desktop
  • Touch targets meet 44x44px minimum on mobile devices
  • Page language declared via lang attribute on the html element

Cross-Platform Testing

  • Tested with NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows
  • Tested with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
  • Tested with TalkBack on Android
  • Verified in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge browsers
  • Validated with axe DevTools and Lighthouse accessibility audits

Standards & Guidelines We Follow

WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)

The international standard for web accessibility, developed by the W3C. We conform to Level AA, which addresses the most common barriers for users with disabilities.

ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)

Title III of the ADA requires public accommodations to provide equal access to their goods and services. Courts have increasingly held that websites and digital platforms are covered under this requirement.

Section 508 (Rehabilitation Act)

Federal law requiring federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. We align with Section 508 standards to support government customers.

EN 301 549 (European Accessibility Standard)

The European standard for digital accessibility, harmonized with WCAG 2.1. We follow this standard to serve customers in the European Union.
